a few minutes late to class you may retain up to 80% less than someone who came
on time.
3. You see, most experienced teachers consciously or
unconsciously go through natural phases of class. The first phase of class is
generally going to be one that takes your mind off of your busy day,
and moreover frees your mind to wholeheartedly join in on training; to become an active listener and participant. This initial phase is
a necessary part of training that ensures retention of the lesson for the day, but also makes for a safer
training environment.
The next time you have a choice to sit on the couch for a
few extra minutes, or stop off for a coffee, remember that when you are walking
in late to training, you may only keep 20% of what you go over that day. It is
simple; you have to be plugged in or you could be "just sweating, instead of learning."
